Grant Nelson started his training as a gib stopper / plasterer in 1996, working in Queenstown as part of the Drywall Group - Central Otago division. The core of this work was new architecturally designed homes.
In 1999, Grant moved to Sydney where he worked primarily on hotels / commercial work in the build up to the Sydney Olympics. After the Olympics, Grant spent two more years in Sydney specialising in fibrous plaster / ornate plastering.
On his return to Dunedin, Grant worked for James Wren and Co for a few years on larger commercial builds in Dunedin and at the University. Following this he spent nearly two years in Christchurch on earthquake repairs, before shifting back to Dunedin where he has spent the last 5 years running his own gib stopping & plastering business, working mainly on new housing.
GJ Nelson Gib Stopping & Plastering covers the Dunedin, Taieri, Ranfurly, Balclutha, Palmerston, Oamaru, Alexandra, Cromwell, and Queenstown areas.
